Public Awareness Initiatives aimed at Pensioners’ Welfare across the country

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology; Minister of State (Independent Charge) Earth Sciences; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh said,  during the last four years, Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare has conducted 5 Pensioners’ Awareness Workshops towards the schemes aimed at Pensioners’ Welfare across the country.

In a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha today, DrJitendra Singh informed that apart from 5 workshops, 15 Pre-retirement Counseling (PRCs) Workshops and 8 Workshops for Training of Trainers (TOTs) were also conducted during the period.

The Department also utilizes the Social Media Platforms i.e., Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Awareness regarding important orders as well as pension rules are done through social media for the benefit of pensioners. Theme-based series of Tweets in Q & A form were carried on ‘Family Pension’ Rules, Know your retirement benefits, Life Certificate Rules etc. Family Pension entitlements and Doorstep Service for Digital Life Certificate (DLC) carried out through short animated videos on YouTube.

The Minister also informed that the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare, has been conducting online conferences/ interactions for the pensioners. The conferences included the following:

  1. An online workshop covering Pensioners from ten (10) different cities of Northern region was held on 07.09.2021. Another workshop was held on 28.10.2021 which covered pensioners from various cities in India.
  2. Pension Rules and use of Digital Life Certificate (JeevanPramaan) were demonstrated during both the workshops.
  1. First ever on-line All India Pension Adalat held in December 2020 by leveraging technology through Video Conferencing.
  2. For ensuring preventive health care of pensioners living in 20 Indian cities, an online programme was organized during which Yoga professional gave a demonstration to Pensioners in order to boost immunity during lockdown and to stay fit.
  3. To address the psychological health of pensioners, this Department had scheduled an interactive session on the topic “Power of Thoughts and Meditation in COVID-19 pandemic”.

 

 The Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare has released the following e-publications for Ease of Pensioners:

i.       A handbook on Family Pension

ii.       Compendiums 2019 & 2020

iii.      Consolidated instructions on 7th CPC related orders

iv.      Clickable e-book on Retirement benefits.

   vi.        Ease of Life for Pensioners-Digital Life Certificate.

The 3rd Biennial Odisha state Conference and Cuttack District Conference of AIPRPA,

 The 3rd Biennial state Conference  and Cuttack District Conference of AIPRPA, Odisha and the National Pensioners day program was held today on 17.12.2021 at Cuttack in S N Sircar memorial Hall, Jobra Road, Cuttack-3. 

More than 100 Members Participated in today's Program. 

Com Niranjan Rout and Com K B Rath presided over the open session and conference/ Pensioners day program. 

Com R N Mallick, Dist President, CITU, Cuttack and Jt. Convenor, OSKEM inaugurated the joint program. Sri P K Bisoi, IPoS, Former Secretary, Dept of Posts attended as Chief guest  Sri Pravat Ranjan Biswal, Former  Local MLA attended as Chairman of the reception Committee, Sri L Pradhan, IPoS, Former PMG, Sambalpur Region attended as Hon'ble Guest, and many leaders from various organisations like CGPA, AOLICPA, AOSGREF, AOSGIREF, AOEPFPA and AOBREF, and from NFPE Com Sapan Ku Mohanty, C/S R-3 attended. 

All the guests invited were felicitated including some senior Pensioners and family Pensioners like  Com A S Pati, Mrs. Meera Behera, Com Niranjan Rout, Com K B Rath, Com S Ch Dash, Com. P Ch Sethi, Sri R N Pradhan, Sri P L Bhola, Sri M M Mohapatra, and Sri Krutartha Behera. 

Com R N Dhal, placed the biennial report and the report of the national pensioners day ie D S Nakara judgment in the house including statement of Accounts and expenditures in the house which was approved. 

A condolence proposal was moved first in the beginning of the meeting after the Corus "Bande Utkal Janani".

Com H K Mohanty gave vote of thanks after the presidents speeches. 

At last all were offered with delicious foods. 

The Conference and today's Pensioners day program was a grand success. 

I am grateful to all members participated from different parts of odisha and very much thankful to all our guests, Chief Guest, Hon'ble Guest and our Chairman Sri Pravat Ranjan Biswal, Former MLA, Cuttack-Choudwar and very helpful person for their participation and giving valuable times for us.. 

I am deeply grateful to my colleagues, friends and Comrades who helped us and contributed for holding our conference and celebrating the Pensioners day program in a befitting manner and I am ever owe to them. 

The State Committee unanimously elected Com Niranjan Rout, Com R N Dhal and Com D N Sahoo as President, State General Secretary and Treasurer from a 45 members Committee.

Dist Committee unanimously elected Com K B Rath, Com R N Dhal and Com D N Sahoo as President, Dist Committee Secretary and Treasurer  for the next term of 2 years from 2021-2023.            Com R N Dhal
