Government's intention is not clear regarding old pension: Shivgopal Mishra
New Delhi July 5: On the invitation of the Government, once again an important meeting of the JCM Staff Side was held with the NPS Committee, in which Secretary Shivgopal Mishra reiterated that government employees are not going to accept anything less than restoration of old pension! How serious the government is in this matter, it can be gauged from the fact that it did not put any of its proposals in the meeting!
The meeting started around 12 noon at the scheduled time. First of all in the meeting, JCM Staff Side Secretary Shivgopal Mishra kept his point. Mr. Mishra said that there is no change in the attitude of the government employees, as the people who are retiring under NPS are being given Rs. 2000 to 3000 in the name of pension. This is not fair in any way! There is a lot of resentment among the government employees regarding this.
This is the reason why we all want that without any change in the old pension scheme, it should be restored in its original form, so that the government employee can live a respectable life even after retirement!
Secretary Mr. Mishra said that we do not want any change in NPS and we will not accept anything less than old pension restoration!
It was believed that after listening to the JCM staff side secretary, some talk or proposal would be made by the NPS committee, but it did not happen, they kept listening to the leaders of the JCM staff side, the committee neither gave any proposal nor Put your side in the meeting only!
On behalf of AIRF, President Dr. N. Kanhaiya, Executive President JR Bhosle and Treasurer Shankar rao participated in this meeting.
Before this meeting there was a meeting of JCM staff side leaders in JCM office. In which mainly the matter to be placed before the NPS committee was discussed. In this, all the leaders said in one voice that at present we have only one demand, restoration of old pension, apart from this we do not accept anything! It was also said in the meeting that if the committee makes any kind of proposal, then we will hold a meeting of JCM staff side leaders again to discuss it.
After this meeting, AIRF General Secretary Shivgopal Mishra told central workers as well as state workers and teachers that the intention of the government is not clear in the matter of restoration of old pension, so we need to strengthen our movement further! For this, we should unite with all our might to make the proposed Parliament siege and rally in Delhi on 10th August a success!
